Travel throughout Germany with this semester ticket!

Travel throughout Germany with your semester ticket! If your college or university has a contract with S-Bahn Berlin, all you have to do is transfer your ticket to a mobile phone ticket via S-Bahn Berlin. Your college or university will automatically inform you of all the important details when you first enrol or re-register at the start of the semester.

There are various ordering processes:

First, select the tab "Summer semester 2025". There you will find your college or university and the corresponding path to ticket delivery.

Fare zones

The tariff area of the Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg (VBB) includes the federal state of Berlin and the state of Brandenburg with its administrative districts and independent cities of Brandenburg, Cottbus, Frankfurt (Oder) and Potsdam.

Berlin and the surrounding regions are divided into fare zones a, b and c gegliedert.

Fare zone Berlin a includes the city center of Berlin, including the S-Bahn-Ring.

Fare zone Berlin b begins outside the S-Bahn ring and reaches to the city limits.

Fare zone Berlin c includes both the outskirts of Berlin and the city of Potsdam.

Important Notes:

  • The mobile phone ticket subscription works on all iPhones and Android smartphones that have at least the following operating system: Apple iPhones from iOS version 16.7 & Android smartphones from version 8
  • Each ticket is displayed with a monthly expiry date. However, it is valid for a whole semester. Tickets for the following month are always issued between the 24th and the last calendar day. The ticket is automatically displayed for the current month and the following month. At the beginning of the new month, only the current ticket will be displayed. No new order is necessary. The monthly update serves to prevent fraud.
