We maintain several presences on different social media channels. These social media activities – operated by us and explained in further detail below – are carried out in accordance with art. 6 paragraph 1 lit. f) of the German general data protection regulation (DSGVO). We use these activities to provide you with a broad spectrum of multi-media contents and to communicate with you on important topics.

Cookies and further analysis and tracking functions of particular social media channels are not loaded when the S-Bahn Berlin website is initially accessed, but only become active after separate confirmation when the channels are used.  Hereby we inform you that when using social media channels, additional cookies are stored in your browser by social media service providers for the purpose of analysis and tracking, even when you leave these channels. You can configure your browser so that cookies from these service providers are not stored.

On the Instagram channel @deine_sbahnberlin we offer a look behind the scenes of the S-Bahn Berlin and provide tips and tricks about public transport in Berlin and Brandenburg.

For the purpose of performing a contract and offering services on these websites, we generally need to involve processors, from parties such as computer centre operators, printing or shipping service providers, or other parties involved in performing the contract, who are bound by instructions from us.

The external service providers that we hire to process data are carefully selected and subject to strict contractual obligations. The service providers follow our instructions, and this is guaranteed by strict contractual regulations, technical and organisational measures, as well as supplementary checks and controls.

Service providers will need to be incorporated, for instance as part of managing and maintaining IT systems. Your data will be transmitted in accordance with legal regulations or if you have given us your express consent.

  • They may object to data processing for reasons resulting from a special situation if and where the data processing is in our legitimate interest.
  • They can object to any marketing use at any time and with future effect.

Should you have any questions concerning the data processing or user rights of social networks, e. g. if you would like to request a deletion, we recommend contacting the respective social network directly since only this network has full access to your user data. If you would like to stop the data processing described here with future effect, you can cancel the connection between your user profile and the page or profile in question by simply “unfollowing” the respective page or channel.

We amend the data privacy notice to reflect changes to functionalities or changes to the legal situation. We therefore recommend that you review the data privacy notice at regular intervals.
