Technical requirements
Please make sure that you have installed the latest version of the S-Bahn Berlin app:
The mobile phone ticket subscription works on all iPhones and Android smartphones that have at least the following operating system:
- Apple iPhones from iOS version 16.7
- Android smartphones from version 8

Are you using a device that cannot be updated to the required version?
The smartphone is not compatible - so it is not possible to use the app and retrieve the mobile phone ticket.
Then please come to our customer office at Ostbahnhof. We will check your device and offer you a solution on the spot.
Please allow for some waiting time, as the customer office is currently busier than usual.

Are you receiving an error message when updating your ticket?
If the new ticket is not displayed directly in the app, please refresh the ticket area with a swipe downwards or log out and log in again.
You couldn't access your mobile ticket during a ticket inspection?
If you already have a Germany Ticket or a Germany Semester Ticket and were unable to show your phone ticket at the ticket inspection for technical reasons, please contact our customer service.
An error message appears when trying to log into the app
- Log in to the app with your online subscription access data (from abo-antrag.de). If you do not have a subscription online account, use your known app access data.
- If you still see an error message, please use the forgotten password function in the app.
- If this does not solve the problem either, please register again in the app.
Notes on the semester ticket
How do I get my Germany Semester Ticket?
These universities have entered into a Germany Semester Ticket contract with S-Bahn Berlin for the summer semester 2025. The ticket is issued as a mobile phone ticket.
There are 2 ordering processes depending on the university.
Please find your university from the two lists and thus the correct ordering process.
1. For these universities, the ordering process is only via the S-Bahn app:

The iPhone is not compatible - therefore using the app and retrieving the mobile phone ticket is not possible.

Problems with login / new registration in the S-Bahn Berlin App?
Are you facing issues logging in into the S-Bahn Berlin app? Please try the following steps:
Why is my Deutschlandsemesterticket only valid for one month?
Each ticket is displayed with a monthly expiry date. However, it is valid for a whole semester. Tickets for the following month are always issued between the 24th and the last calendar day. The ticket is automatically displayed for the current month and the following month. At the beginning of the new month, only the current ticket will be displayed. No new order is necessary. The monthly update serves to prevent fraud.
If the new ticket is not displayed directly in the app, please refresh the ticket area with a swipe downwards or log out and back in again.
Is the ticket also available as a wallet (Apple or Google Wallet)?
We currently offer the semester ticket digitally and conveniently via the S-Bahn Berlin app. Issuing tickets via the app meets the highest security standards and also offers the advantage that individual timetable information is available at all times.
We know that a wallet ticket would be attractive to individual passengers and we take your feedback very seriously. We are currently looking into the possibility of offering such a ticket in the future.
Why have I not received a confirmation email for my registration?
If you have not received a confirmation email for your registration, you must log in to your university email account. The automatic forwarding from your university e-mail address to your private e-mail address does not seem to work at some universities at the moment. If you do not have access to your university mailbox, please get in touch with the contact person at your university.
